Estrangement is a feeling that grows in me as I grow. Feeling estranged from familiar spaces/faces, from the language, from my footprints.

“Estranged” consists of three ambient tracks that are based on tape loops which I recorded in Istanbul last Winter, at my parents’ home. This is my first pure ambient release. I found comfort in these loops, and I hope they’ll console you too.

Track 3 gets its name from one of Nazım Hikmet’s quatrains:

"dağ doruğu deler gider bulutu,
dağ dibinde ak evler kutu kutu,
evdekiler! yok mu koklamak isteyen
dağ doruğundan getirdiğim otu?"
